A little more about Dahlias and Dreams!

A spiritual art expressed through floral design, garden design, and intentional living — so your home becomes a container for the beautiful feelings you desire
Origin story & mission
Who doesn’t love an origin story?
If you've ever felt lighter, calmer, or more yourself when fresh flowers are in your home—or while walking through a blooming garden—you already understand the heart of my work.
Flowers and plants are scientifically proven to uplift our spirits and shift the energy of a space. But long before I knew the science, I felt the truth of it in my own life.
I found flowers during a major life transition in 2021—one that asked me to slow down, listen, go inward, and reconnect with what truly mattered. Growing flowers helped me return to myself. They reawakened my creativity, grounded me in nature, and reminded me that beauty can be both healing and practical.
Dahlias, in particular, called to me—expressive, layered, resilient, with a distinctive feminine energy. Iykyk.
Along my journey of reinvention, my own lived experience has shown me that energy is at the center of everything we do. It is the invisible weight that balances and regulates our hearts, our homes, our families and relationships. As a Reiki Master, it is natural for me to infuse Reiki healing energy into almost everything I do—florals, gardens, food, my pets, my own heart and my home—and it's now the gift I share with others.
Dahlias & Dreams was created from that place. In 2023, it was born — what began as simple bouquets shared from my driveway slowly grew into something much bigger: a container for creativity, intention, and beautiful energy, born from a desire to help others feel more at home in everyday spaces, gatherings, and moments.
More than just "flowers," it's feminine energy and beauty. It is a form of spiritual art expressed through floral design, garden design, and intentional living—that starts in our hearts and is held by a container that is our home.
Because we can all make a promise to ourselves, to always feel at home.
Hi I’m
Jess Seilheimer!
As someone who has personally reset her life and reinvented herself at 47 — I chose myself, and
re-designed a life, inner and outer. Over the past six years, I took my own lived experience and slowly turned it into a gift for others.
For two decades I was an executive in brand strategy and advertising in New York City, until I took a big leap in 2020 and moved to the beachy harbor town of Centerport, Long Island. In the years that followed, I let go of a career and identity that no longer fit, and I rooted into a slower, more creative lifestyle, and began rebuilding my life from the inside out — one choice, one habit, one room, one garden bed at a time — and I’m still designing a life that feels aligned rather than performative.
These days I live a creative life and do the things that make me feel at home in myself — because it turns out that feeling good is what inspires me to share the beauty I've cultivated in service of others, and helps me feel purposeful and fulfilled. I take care of my mind, body and soul. I garden. I make beautiful meals and keep my home smelling bright, like citrus and something a little herbaceous. I paddleboard and play tennis, I socialize and meditate and read a lot of books, and I make promises to myself that I actually keep. I care for my two cats, Blaze and Zoé.
Reiki energy and flowers are woven through all of my life. Beautiful flowers — the ones that grow in my garden, the ones that fill my home, the ones that are an ephemeral reminder to be present: to slow down, to notice each petal, each color, each stem, and to enjoy the beauty of life all around us.
My love of flowers is rooted in my community, too. I facilitate floral design classes for the kids at the Harborfields Library (they are endlessly creative), I'm an active member of the Centerport Garden Club, and I serve as Chairperson of Civic Beautification — because a more beautiful town is really just a bigger version of a more beautiful home.
I'm also writing my way through the entire last 6 years of transformation that I've experienced: the personal growth, the synchronicity, the trust in the universe, and all I've had to release in order to let something new bloom into my life. My story of coming home to myself lives on my Substack, ‘There's No Place Like Home’. If any part of my story resonates, I'd love for you to read along with chapters that unfold every week.
Prefer to watch? You can hear the story in my own words a 12-minute video from a storytelling event July 24, 2026 There's No Place Like Home: The Story on YouTube.
Through my work, I've come to see something quietly powerful: when a home comes back into harmony, relationships often do too — between partners, families, friends, and even within ourselves. I love working with homeowners, real estate professionals, and creative partners who care about spaces that feel like ease, clarity, and a true sense of being at home.
Energy & flowers simply happen to be the language my soul speaks fluently — and I'm so grateful to share it with you.
Flowers are the ultimate creative expression!
Be yourself— everyone else is taken
